Payment & Cancellation Policy

 

How can I pay?

All accounts are paid in full by credit card (Mastercard & Visa only), cash or EFTPOS by latest the completion of appointment. Exceptions to this are preapproved 3rd party payment providers.

Credit card details will be requested by our receptionist at the time of your appointment booking. This credit card will be used to pay for your appointment on the day of your appointment unless you advise us prior to the day of your appointment of an alternative preferred payment method such as cash or bank transfer.  The payment may be made prior to your appointment time on the day of appointment.  If your appointment is on a weekend, payment may be made on the Friday prior to your appointment time, as full reception services are not available on weekends.

Deposits

  • The deposit for an assessment is non-refundable once paid (where applicable if an assessment is booked)
  • The deposit for an assessment can be transferred towards another assessment date if notice is given 7 days before the assessment date.

Cancellation Fees

Our cancellation and 'no-show' fees are variable depending on the type of appointment being booked. Please review carefully below to understand the differences between longer appointments/ assessments, and one hour appointments. NOTE: all days and times specified below include business hours with reception only (Monday-Friday, 9-5pm) and do not include weekends. Hence emailing us on a Friday night for a Monday morning appointment will incur full fee.

For assessments 2+ hours:

  • Cancellations with 4 or more business days* notice no cancellation fee applies.
  • Cancellations with less than 4 business days* notice of the appointment or failure to attend a 50% cancellation fee (based on the cost of the appointment) applies and will be charged to the credit card nominated.

For all appointments of 1 hour or less:

  • Cancellations of more than 2 business days* (48 hours or more) written notice, no cancellation fee applies.
  • Cancellations within 24-48 hours* written notice of the appointment incur a 50% cancellation fee (based on the cost of the appointment). This will be charged to the credit card nominated (emergencies or medical certificates will have the fee waived at our discretion).
  • Cancellations with less than 24 hours* written notice or failure to attend the appointment a 100% cancellation fee (based on the cost of the appointment) applies and will be charged to the credit card nominated (emergencies or medical certificates will have the fee waived or reduced at our discretion)

*Business hours/days are Monday to Friday, 9-5pm. They exclude weekends and public holidays

Whilst we understand that there are unavoidable genuine emergencies and illness, and we will take these things into consideration, we do ask you are considerate of our staff and inform us as soon as possible of any non-attendance. If you are unsure if you can attend an appointment, we recommend that you do not formally book in a session, but call up on the day and see if one is still available, in order to avoid cancellation fees.

Right to Cancel

Sydney Cognitive Development reserves the right to cancel any appointment at its sole discretion.  Relevant deposits will be refunded in such circumstances.

Overdue Accounts

Our terms provide that collection and legal costs and interest will be added to overdue accounts. In the event where your overdue account is referred to a collection agency and/or law firm, you will be liable for all costs which would be incurred as if the debt is collected in full, including legal demand costs. Overdue accounts will be subject to interest at the rate of 13% p.a., calculated for the period the account is due until the date it is paid.

Difficulties with payment

If you believe you will have any difficulties complying with our payment policy please contact our general manager at andrew@scdcentre.com.au as early as possible to discuss alternate solutions, such as payment plans.
